Cambodia Casinos

There is a captivating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the border from next door Thailand, where gambling hall gaming is illegal. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a relatively small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect area, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few limitations requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; although, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 17:00, and though visas are for all intents and purposes required to cross, there are means around this, as is real of most border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored bateau gambling hall, contains one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty gaming tables. The Naga river boat never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machines and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the familiar table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive resort and hotel compound that features many comforts in addition to the gambling den, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight tables.
